Civil Rights Museum Feedback

On Feb. 29, McComb hosted the design team for the upcoming Mississippi Civil Rights Museum. Youth were able to engage in discussions with architects from the design team, archivists from the Mississippi Department of Archives and History (MDAH), oral historians from the University of Southern Mississippi and Jackson State University, media production managers, marketing consultants, and elders from the Civil Rights Movement. The young people presented a shirt from the 50th Anniversary of the Burglund High School Walkout to the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum archive team. The shirt will be displayed in the reconciliation section of the museum when it opens in 2017.
